According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 86.9 square miles (225.07 km²), of which 86.4 square miles (225.1 km²) is land and 0.5 square miles (1.3 km², 0.56%) is water.

As of the census of 2020, there were 2416 people and 962 households in the township. The population density was 27.8 people per square mile (10.73/km²). There were 1,117 housing units at an average density of 12.85/sq mi (4.96/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 95.86% White, 0.02% African American, 0.01% Asian, and 0.04% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.01% of the population .

There were 962 households, out of which 22.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.8% were married couples living together, 16.9% had a female householder with no spouse/partner present, and 20.9% were male householder with no spouse/partner present. The average family size was 2.93.

In the township the population was spread out, with 22.3% under the age of 18, 6% from 18 to 24, 18.46% from 25 to 44, 26.95% from 45 to 64, and 26.29% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 49.2 years. For every 100 females there were 103.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.9 males.

The median income for a household in the township was $76,691, and the median income for a family was $86,667. 55.3% of the Township population is employed with 33.1% of those people working in manufacturing. Educational services and healthcare jobs make up another 19.3%. The per capita income for the township was $39,146. About 6.5% of families and 7.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5% of those under age 18 and 4% of those age 65 or over.
